The lycée theatre troupe is currently working on a musical production of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" for March 2019. W. Shakespeare's original text will be used but the setting and context will be modern.
Last year, the students worked on 'Pride and Prejudice' by J. Austen, under the direction of Kirsty Yuill, assisted by Kathryn McGrath. The music was directed by Nora Louise Syran and the fabulous Tech Crew were under the guidance of Duffy Pleasance.
In the spirit of cultural exchange, parents from the anglophone section invited Sartoux school to celebrate Halloween. They organized games/workshops and a feast of special treats. The objective was to encourage the openness to other cultures and the international dimension of our school. Children were transformed into princesses, super heroes, witches, ghosts, hotdogs and many more characters.
Thank you to all parents who participated!

A parent-teacher Halloween lunch
was held on October 19th at La Ferme Bermond with over 70 parents attending and the entire primary teaching team. Parent lunches are a wonderful opportunity to get to know your child’s teachers as well as other parents. Thank you to the IPSC for organizing this event.

The CPSI, CE1SI participated in the 'SEMAINE DU GOÛT' on the 12th of October.
We were privileged to have chef Khérima Belhadj lead various workshops during the day. In preparation for her visit, our classes focused on what might make dishes from our region unique. We explored the indigenous plants that we use in Provencal cuisine: rosemary, thyme, sage, olives, the bay leaf, etc… in addition to identifying various fruits and vegetables that are typical from our region. After a more scientific approach to comparing and contrasting the plants using touch, smell and sight, what better way than to experiment first hand then to taste them? Mme Belhadj prepared various recipes in advance and the classes were invited to relish to various savors of: ‘les tomates cocktail farcies au thon, un coulis de poivrons, un caviar d’aubergines et une tapenade verte et noire.’

Their creations have won the 2018 cover contest. The designs were judged by Aseica teachers, staff and board. ‘We were all impressed by the number and quality of the entries this year.’
Bravo to the runners-up, we thank you all for your participation and encourage you to try again next year.
A fantastic trans-generational exchange between 5ème students and nursing home residents.
For a few years now, Mrs. Dorothy Fox's students have been regularly visiting ‘Sunny bank’ Anglophone residents.
This exchange is perfectly consistent with the College reform, which encourages initiative and commitment. During these sharing moments, students learn about the life stories of their elderly partners: their childhood, their career, and their greatest memories. Seniors, from their side, appreciate passing on their experience and staying connected to the present thanks to the younger generation. Many thanks to Mrs. Fox who initiated and developed this project with her students with the help of Mrs. Rae McIver, ex-teacher at the CIV.
We hope to get this year's student feedback soon.
More information on this program in this article from last year.
Support our school project and publicize to more than 1,300 international families registered in our Anglophone Sections.
